Egypt President Sisi signs law to restructure Future Egypt agency and urges continued education reforms
President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi signed Law No. 147 of 2026 that reorganizes the Future Egypt Agency for Sustainable Development. The law aims to strengthen the agency’s role in supporting the national economy and outlines provisions for land designated as sustainable‑development zones, continuation of existing agreements, vehicle ownership, and staff secondments.
In a separate meeting in Al‑Alamein, Sisi emphasized the need to keep advancing reforms in Egypt’s education system. He met with Prime Minister Mustapha Madbouly and Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, who reported plans to expand technical schools to about 225 institutions, including new partnerships with Italy and Germany to establish applied‑technology and German‑Egyptian technical schools. The government also highlighted cooperation with the International Baccalaureate and efforts to revise the national curriculum.
