Egypt: Presidential directives focus on education and improved public communication
Egyptian officials have highlighted recent directives from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi aimed at prioritizing education and improving government communication with citizens.
Samir el-Khouly, Secretary of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, stated that presidential instructions regarding school fees and the availability of affordable school supplies reflect a state priority to ease the financial burden on families ahead of the new academic year. He emphasized the importance of expanding school supply exhibitions to villages and rural areas to ensure students have access to necessary materials at reduced prices.
Hossam el-Khouly, head of the Mostaqbal Watan Party parliamentary bloc in the Senate, addressed the government's method of presenting national achievements. He argued that the administration should shift from merely announcing large investment figures to explaining how specific projects directly impact the daily lives of citizens. He noted that communication regarding essential service sectors, such as health and education, should focus on practical results and problem-solving at the local level.
