Egypt Prime Minister hosts roundtable to boost mining sector investment

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a roundtable discussion titled ‘From Discovery to Industrial Development: Building Investor Confidence through the Mining Value Chain in Egypt.’ The event was part of the fifth edition of the Egypt Mining Forum 2026, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The forum, themed ‘Unlocking Egypt’s Exploratory Potential and the Arabian-Nubian Shield,’ brought together various government ministers, including those from electricity, petroleum, environment, labor, industry, and transport, alongside representatives from major local and international mining companies and global financial institutions.

Discussions focused on developing the mining sector, enhancing added value, providing necessary infrastructure and energy for mining projects, and improving the investment environment to accelerate project implementation. Madbouly stated that the government has worked to address structural issues that previously limited investment, noting that the sector’s roadmap is now promising. The current priority is to translate the forum’s outcomes into tangible, real-world projects.
