Egypt readies 2026 secondary school exams for over 900,000 students
Egypt's Ministry of Education, led by Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, held a video‑conference with regional education directors to confirm final preparations for the 2026 secondary school examinations. The schedule spans from 21 June to 16 July, covering subjects such as religious education, foreign languages, Arabic, chemistry, physics, mathematics and others.
The ministry reported that 921,709 candidates will sit the exams, split between the new and old systems, and organised 2,032 exam committees across 613 centres nationwide. Security measures include intensive inspection of exam rooms, prohibition of mobile phones and electronic devices, separate entry and exit routes for each committee, and strict monitoring to prevent any cheating or disruptions. Local education officials, including the Qena directorate, reiterated the need for full readiness, equal opportunities and public awareness of the exam rules.
