Egypt reviews progress on new 500500 National Cancer Institute
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to review the executive status of the new National Cancer Institute in Sheikh Zayed, known as ‘500500 Hospital’. The project aims to increase medical capacity and provide specialized oncology care and comprehensive medical services according to international standards.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has directed the government to establish a partnership with a reputable international operator to ensure optimal management and high-quality medical services. The facility is intended to serve as a regional hub for cancer treatment, integrating advanced medical technologies with scientific research.
Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the project is a qualitative addition to Egypt’s oncology system. Beyond increasing patient capacity, the institute will support medical training, education, and scientific research to enhance the country’s capabilities in treating various types of cancer.
