Egypt rolls out 2026 affordable housing scheme with private‑sector partnership
The Egyptian Ministry of Housing and the Social Housing Fund announced the 2026 "Housing for All Egyptians" program, offering fully finished apartments ranging from 75 to 90 square metres. Applicants must meet income and eligibility criteria, provide documents such as a national ID, utility bill and proof of income, and can secure mortgages with repayment terms of up to 20–30 years.
In parallel, the fund revealed a new partnership with the private sector to expand the supply of units. The first private‑sector projects are slated for launch before the end of the year, featuring apartments of at least 90 square metres and the same eligibility rules. Financing will be handled through participating banks to ensure affordable credit for qualified citizens.
