Egypt State-Owned Companies Unit reports Q2 2026 progress
The Egyptian Cabinet reviewed the performance report of the State-Owned Companies Unit for the second quarter of 2026. During the first half of the year, the unit transitioned from its foundational phase to the active implementation of programs designed to manage the state's company portfolio and maximize economic returns.
The unit's 2026 annual plan includes 21 major projects and initiatives. In the second quarter, work focused on completing the national corporate data system, classifying companies financially and operationally, and executing restructuring and dependency transfer programs. Additionally, the unit is preparing targeted companies for listing and offering on the Egyptian Exchange.
To support digital transformation, the unit launched the ‘Rashid’ digital platform, a unified national platform for managing company data. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze financial statements and calculate over 20 financial and operational indicators per company. A cooperation protocol was also signed with e-finance to provide the necessary digital infrastructure. During the second quarter, 20 companies were granted provisional listing on the Egyptian Exchange.
