Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026 exhibition launches to boost textile industry
The Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026 exhibition has launched in Cairo, bringing together major global suppliers of textile machinery and technology. The event aims to help Egyptian manufacturers modernize production lines, increase operational efficiency, and boost production capacity to enhance competitiveness in international markets.
According to the Textile Export Council, the sector recorded exports of approximately $617 million during the first seven months of 2026, with a target to reach $1.3 billion by the end of the year. Key export categories include woven fabrics, denim, synthetic fabrics, and synthetic yarns.
Officials, including Maha Saleh, Assistant Minister of Industry for Industrial Policy, emphasized that technological transformation is essential for improving productivity and quality while optimizing energy and raw material consumption. The exhibition serves as a platform for local factories to compare supplier offers, access technical training for staff, and adopt sustainable solutions for water and energy conservation in dyeing and finishing processes.
