Egypt: Man detained for family murders after buying weapons on Dark Web

The Egyptian Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of a man accused of murdering his daughter and three members of his ex-wife's family, as well as attempting to kill his son, in 15 May City, south of Cairo.

During investigations, the suspect confessed to the premeditated killings, which were motivated by family disputes with his ex-wife. He reportedly arranged a meeting under the guise of settling these disputes before opening fire. A significant detail revealed during interrogation is that the suspect admitted to purchasing the firearm and ammunition through a website on the Dark Web for a sum of money.

Authorities seized the weapon, ammunition, a white weapon, a bag containing various tools, and a mask used to hide his identity. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage and audio recordings provided by witnesses, which corroborated the suspect's confession. The suspect has been held for four days pending further investigation.
