Egypt targets 6 billion LE for third tranche of exporter dues

Egypt's Finance Minister, Ahmed Kouchouk, announced that the government aims to allocate 6 billion LE to pay the third tranche of overdue dues to exporters in cash. This payment covers shipments made before July 1, 2024. Companies can apply for this initiative between August 16 and October 1, with disbursements scheduled for October 22.

Kouchouk stated that over 80 billion LE has been paid to exporters over the last six years, and the government intends to clear all outstanding dues within two years. The current budget has allocated 48 billion LE to accelerate export support, following export subsidies that reached 28 billion LE in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, representing a 55% annual growth rate.

Nevine Mansour, advisor to the minister, noted that 12.6 billion LE was paid in cash to approximately 2,500 exporting companies during the last fiscal year. This amount covered the first and second tranches of overdue dues for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, which were processed faster than the original two-year plan.
