Egypt to develop aviation sector and build new Cairo Airport terminal

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Civil Aviation Minister Sameh el-Hefny to review the strategic development of the nation's civil aviation sector. The discussions focused on upgrading airport infrastructure, increasing capacity, and enhancing passenger services to bolster Egypt's regional and international competitiveness.

A central component of this plan is the construction of Terminal 4 at Cairo International Airport. This new terminal is designed to accommodate approximately 40 million passengers annually, utilizing artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and sustainable technologies to create a smart, eco-friendly operational model.

President el-Sisi issued directives to ensure the new terminal meets the highest international standards for design and efficiency. He also emphasized the importance of attracting foreign investment through integrated investment zones near airports and increasing private sector participation in airport management and operations. Additionally, the President called for strict oversight of service quality to address passenger complaints and improve the overall travel experience.
