Egypt to develop eight logistics corridors to boost trade hub status

Egypt is working to strengthen its position as a global trade and transport hub by developing its maritime transport system and port infrastructure. Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir announced the implementation of eight integrated international logistics corridors designed to connect Red Sea and Mediterranean ports, the Suez Canal axis, and dry ports with industrial, agricultural, and mining zones.

The identified corridors include routes such as Al-Arish–Taba, Sokhna–Alexandria, and Cairo–Alexandria, among others. These projects aim to reduce the time and cost of transporting goods while attracting new investments in the transport, logistics, and mining sectors.

Furthermore, Egypt is expanding its strategic partnership with the United States in the fields of infrastructure and logistics. This cooperation focuses on enhancing the efficiency, sustainability, and security of global supply chains by leveraging Egypt’s geographic location and the Suez Canal alongside American expertise in supply chain management.
