Egypt to host ACI World Annual General Assembly in 2027

Egypt, represented by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, has officially received the hosting rights for the Airports Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly (WAGA 2027). The event is scheduled to take place in Sharm El Sheikh in 2027, succeeding Lima, Peru.

The official handover ceremony occurred during the ACI-LAC/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition (WAGA 2026) held in Lima from September 25 to 29, 2026. During the proceedings, Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, presented Sharm El Sheikh as the upcoming destination and highlighted the strategic importance of the selection.

This marks the first time Egypt will host this global event and only the second time for the African region. The assembly is expected to serve as a major international platform for airport leaders, decision-makers, and aviation experts to discuss the future of the airport industry.
