Egypt to increase visa administrative fees in 2027
Egypt is set to increase its visa-related administrative fees starting January 1, 2027. A decree signed by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly aims to standardize fees for entry, transit, and consular services.
While initial interpretations of the decree caused confusion regarding whether total visa costs would rise to $45 or drop to $15, the actual change concerns the administrative component. Currently, this fee stands at $12 for tourist visas purchased at airports. Under the new regulations, this specific administrative fee will increase to $15. Consequently, the total cost for a standard tourist visa is expected to rise from $30 to $33.
The government stated that this adjustment is intended to unify fees that previously varied depending on the type of service or location of issuance.
