Egypt tourism demand surges as Red Sea hotel occupancy nears 90%
Egypt is experiencing a surge in tourism demand as the autumn-winter season approaches. According to data from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, hotel occupancy rates in popular Red Sea resorts, specifically Hurghada and Marsa Alam, reached nearly 90 percent in early October.
Industry groups, including the Red Sea Tourist Investors Chamber and the Association of Tourist Guides, have noted this rapid increase in demand. The trend is driven by relatively affordable pricing compared to other winter destinations and an increase in European charter flight connections.
As occupancy levels approach capacity, industry experts warn of potential overbooking risks, particularly in large five-star resorts. Travelers are advised to book well in advance and verify accommodation conditions.
