Egypt travel capacity to expand for summer 2027 season

Travel operators and airlines are significantly expanding capacity for the 2027 summer season targeting Egypt and Tunisia.

Nesma Airlines has announced a major increase in flight availability between Egypt, Germany, and Switzerland. In Germany, the airline will offer 160,000 seats, representing a 50 percent increase compared to the summer of 2026. Specific increases include more frequent flights from Hannover, Cologne/Bonn, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf. In Switzerland, service will expand in Basel and include new connections from Zurich to Hurghada.

Simultaneously, tour operator Express Travel International (ETI) has opened its early booking phase for the period of May 1 to October 31, 2027. ETI is offering discounts of up to 20 percent at its Red Sea Hotels properties and up to 25 percent for accommodations in Tunisia. The company noted a consumer trend toward longer planning lead times and is investing in infrastructure at its Red Sea locations to meet demand.
