Egypt travel guide: seasonal weather and legal warnings
Sharm el-Sheikh, located on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, remains a popular destination for European travelers due to its coral reefs and all-inclusive resorts. The ideal time to visit depends on preferred activities. Between October and April, temperatures are pleasant, ranging from 23°C to 28°C, making it suitable for desert excursions and avoiding extreme heat. For snorkeling and diving, the spring and autumn months (March–May and September–November) offer optimal water temperatures and maximum underwater visibility.
Summer months (June to September) are characterized by intense sun and temperatures frequently exceeding 35°C or 40°C.
Travelers are advised to be aware of strict local laws in Egypt. Drug offenses are prosecuted heavily, with penalties ranging from long-term imprisonment to the death penalty in severe cases. Additionally, photographing military or police installations, vehicles, or personnel without authorization is prohibited and can result in the seizure of equipment or arrest.
