Egypt urges stronger finance backing for hospitality and entrepreneurship ahead of 2026 growth targets

Industry leaders at Egypt’s Decision Makers Conference called for greater participation by banks and investment funds in hospitality projects, noting the need for about 250,000 additional hotel rooms by 2030 to meet tourism targets. They highlighted regulatory reforms, sustainable demand and the role of fintech in improving investor confidence despite high interest rates.

Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Eissa announced the launch of the 2026 Global Entrepreneurship Festival in Cairo, stressing that Africa’s economic future depends on innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation. The three‑day event aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and financial institutions to expand investment opportunities and accelerate startup growth across the continent, positioning Egypt as a regional gateway.
