Egypt vegetable market shows mixed price trends
Vegetable prices in Egypt showed varied movements on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with several essential items experiencing price increases. Tomatoes rose to approximately 20.63 EGP per kilo, while onions reached 14.55 EGP. Local lemons saw a significant increase of 5.31 EGP, reaching 46.21 EGP per kilo. Other rising items included bell peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, and carrots.
Conversely, some prices declined, including green beans, which dropped by 3.78 EGP to 33.76 EGP per kilo. Okra, potatoes, zucchini, and taro also saw price reductions. The market continues to experience daily fluctuations across different varieties.
