Egypt veterinary services conduct inspections of drug centers and clinics

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, through the General Organization for Veterinary Services, conducted intensive inspection campaigns across various governorates during September 2026. The operations aimed to regulate the market for veterinary medicines, vaccines, and clinics to ensure products meet legal and health standards.

Inspection committees, formed by veterinary medicine directorates in cooperation with the Environmental and Water Resources Police, visited 527 veterinary facilities. These inspections identified 193 violations, including operating without a license, possessing expired or unknown-source veterinary drugs, and the absence of a responsible veterinarian.

Legal actions were taken against violators, resulting in 21 administrative closure decisions for unlicensed clinics and centers. Additionally, authorities issued 5 misdemeanor reports in Kafr El-Sheikh and Red Sea, 9 administrative reports in Beni Suef, Sharqia, and Ismailia, and enforced administrative closures for 21 centers in Damietta, Cairo, Minya, and Fayoum.
