Egypt wheat supply reaches 4.7 million tons as season concludes

Egypt has concluded its local wheat supply season with a total of approximately 4.719 million tons collected from farmers across 25 governorates. This figure represents an increase of roughly 780,823 tons compared to the 2025 season, which recorded 3.938 million tons.

In the Beheira Governorate specifically, the season ended with a record harvest of 415,646.6 tons. This marks a 30.7% increase (97,738.6 tons) over the previous year. The governorate utilized 44 collection centers, including silos and receiving points, to manage the harvest.

Distribution of the national supply was handled by several entities: the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage received approximately 1.845 million tons, while milling companies under the Holding Company for Food Industries received 1.558 million tons. The Agricultural Bank of Egypt's warehouses received 718,261 tons, and the Future of Egypt Agency for Sustainable Development received 558,286 tons.

Seventeen governorates have completed their full supply quotas, while eight others continued deliveries through the official season end on August 15. The government's target for the current season was to collect approximately 5 million tons of local wheat.
