Egypt U18 women's handball team sets world record with 83-17 win over Fiji

The Egypt U18 women's handball team made history at the World Championship in Romania by defeating Fiji 83‑17, establishing the highest‑scoring match ever recorded in the tournament. The victory gave Egypt a perfect nine points from three group matches, having also beaten Croatia 27‑24 and France 29‑24 in what was described as the "group of death". The 83 goals set multiple records: most goals by a team in a single U18 World Championship match, the largest winning margin (+66), most goals in a half (43) and a total of 100 goals in the game. Sondos Abouelazaiem led the scoring with 17 goals. The win secured Egypt’s place in the main round and highlighted the attacking strength of this emerging generation of players.
