EgyptAir signs IATA sustainability agreement and receives ISO certifications

During the Alamein International Airshow and Space Exhibition (EIAS 2026), EgyptAir and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) signed the ‘CO2 Connect’ agreement. This partnership aims to enhance environmental sustainability within the Egyptian civil aviation sector by implementing international standards for measuring and monitoring carbon emissions.

The agreement will allow EgyptAir to utilize IATA’s program to link emission data with the Amadeus booking system, enabling the display of carbon footprint information for specific flights on passenger tickets. This move is intended to support data-driven decision-making and help the airline meet increasing global environmental requirements.

Additionally, EgyptAir Ground Services received three international certifications from TÜV AUSTRIA for quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management. The company successfully obtained ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, following an integrated audit process conducted without any negative findings.
