EgyptAir to launch new service connecting Sydney and Cairo via Singapore

EgyptAir plans to launch a new service connecting Cairo, Singapore, and Sydney starting in 2027, marking the first time a North African airline will serve Sydney Airport. The proposed route, which is subject to regulatory approval, aims to connect Australia to Egypt’s extensive network across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

Sydney Airport identifies Egypt as its largest unserved African market for Australian travelers. The addition of EgyptAir will bring the total number of airlines serving Sydney to a record 54. The service is expected to support tourism, trade, and cultural links, particularly benefiting the Egyptian community in New South Wales, which exceeds 21,000 people.

While the route will include a stop in Singapore, EgyptAir officials noted the service provides unique access to the carrier’s Cairo hub. Specific details regarding flight frequency, aircraft types, and timetables have not yet been announced.
