Egyptian actor Mohamed El-Tagi dies at 72

Egyptian actor Mohamed El-Tagi has passed away at the age of 72 following complications from recent surgeries. His death was announced by Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Egyptian Acting Professions Syndicate.

El-Tagi’s health declined after he underwent a delicate spinal surgery following a previous abdominal procedure to treat a hernia. Despite the complications and subsequent intensive care, he remained active in the industry until recently, appearing in works such as ‘Molok El Gedana’ and ‘Newton’s Cradle’.

Throughout a career spanning several decades, El-Tagi was a prominent supporting actor in Egyptian cinema, television, and theater. He was the grandson of the late actor Abdel Wareth Assar. His notable filmography includes appearances in ‘Al-Bashaier’, ‘Layali El Helmeya’, and ‘Al-Motazawegoon’. His funeral was held at the Al-Thawra Mosque in Cairo, attended by family members and fellow artists.
