Egyptian airline Er Cairo suspends flight attendant over offensive Suhag video

Er Cairo announced it has suspended a flight attendant and referred her to a formal investigation after a video circulated showing her using insulting language toward residents of Egypt’s Sohag governorate. The airline said the remarks were personal, do not reflect its values, and it is pursuing all legal and administrative procedures.

The incident sparked widespread public anger, demands for accountability and a complaint filed by the Sohag Lawyers' Union to the public prosecutor. Earlier, EgyptAir denied any link to the employee, but later confirmed she works for Er Cairo. The airline reiterated its respect for all Egyptian citizens and its commitment to professional conduct.
