Egyptian Cabinet approves land legalization and building reconciliation extensions
The Egyptian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, has approved several key decisions regarding land legalization, building violations, and urban development.
Key measures include a six-month extension for submitting requests to legalize privately owned state lands. Additionally, the Cabinet approved a six-month extension for building reconciliation requests, starting November 5, 2026, to allow citizens to complete necessary documentation and legal procedures.
In terms of urban expansion, the New Urban Communities Authority approved 43 requests for land allocation to companies via US dollar payments from abroad. These allocations span various cities, including New Cairo, 6th of October, and New Mansoura, for projects ranging from residential and commercial to educational and green energy data centers.
The Cabinet also approved extending the “Ramses and Pharaohs Gold” exhibition in London, UK, for an additional four months, moving the end date to January 3, 2027, due to high visitor interest. Furthermore, the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund will proceed with offering remaining housing units in specific projects.
