Egyptian education officials inspect schools in Cairo and Alexandria

Education officials in Cairo and Alexandria conducted field inspections to monitor the start of the 2026/2027 academic year.

Himat Abu Kila, Director of the Cairo Directorate of Education, visited schools in the Manshiyat Nasser and West Nasr City districts. Her inspections focused on classroom regularity, student attendance, health services, and school nutrition programs. During her tour, she also monitored a vision screening initiative at Khalid bin Al-Walid Primary School to ensure early detection of health issues among students.

In Alexandria, Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Alexandria Directorate of Education, inspected schools in the East District. He reviewed class schedules, student density, and the distribution of textbooks, emphasizing that books must be provided without requiring financial payments. Abu Zeid engaged directly with students to gather feedback and stressed the importance of schools as environments for character building and talent discovery.
