Egyptian Exchange sees 600,000 new investors in 2026
Omar Radwan, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, announced that approximately 600,000 new investors have joined the securities market so far in 2026. The majority of these new participants are young individuals under the age of 30, signaling growing interest in stock market investment among the youth.
Radwan noted that the Egyptian Exchange has experienced significant growth and an expanding investor base over the past three years. Regarding recent market volatility, he addressed the occurrence of 30-minute trading halts, stating that such instances are not unprecedented in the history of the exchange and should not cause concern.
He advised investors to remain calm and avoid making impulsive decisions based on short-term market fluctuations or fear-driven reactions to the actions of other traders. Radwan emphasized the importance of a long-term investment vision and understanding market mechanisms to navigate volatility effectively.
