Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouk Announces 28 billion EGP Export Support Package
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouk said the government will allocate 28 billion Egyptian pounds to support exports in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, targeting an annual growth rate of 55 %. The package is part of broader fiscal reforms that include a second wave of tax incentives, a 28 % rise in tax revenue last year, and an extension of the value‑added tax suspension on industrial and medical equipment from two to four years. Customs procedures are being streamlined through a risk‑management system and a fast‑track program for qualified firms. The state has already paid 70 billion pounds to exporters over six years and disbursed 12.6 billion pounds in the most recent year, with a goal to clear all outstanding arrears within two years. Officials highlighted the measures as aimed at boosting production, attracting investment, and improving the country’s foreign‑exchange earnings.
