Egyptian football figures debate player conduct and club rivalries

Former Egyptian football stars have addressed recent controversies within the domestic league. Osama Hassan, a former Zamalek player, has defended left-back Ahmed Foutouh following the player's apology to fans. Hassan urged supporters and management to stop attacking Foutouh, emphasizing his technical value to the team and suggesting that the player should not be sacrificed due to the current crisis.

In a separate discussion, former player Hossam Ghaly commented on recent remarks made by Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa. Gomaa had criticized the defensive tactics used by Modern Sport during a league match. Ghaly suggested that Gomaa's comments were driven by loyalty to Al Ahly, though he noted that Gomaa failed to express his views appropriately by criticizing an opponent's playing style rather than addressing matters internally.
