Egyptian football teams launch pre‑season camps ahead of AFCON 2027 qualifiers and new league season

The Egypt senior national team, coached by Colonel Hossam Hassan, is planning a closed‑door training camp in September to prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The squad will begin its continental campaign during the international break from 21 September to 6 October 2026, hosting Angola first and then South Sudan, aiming to build on the historic run to the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Premier League side Al‑Masry has begun the third phase of its pre‑season preparation in Ismailia. The two‑week camp includes scheduled friendly matches and the renewal of contracts for several key players, including goalkeepers and outfielders, as the club readies for the Nile League, expected to start in the last week of August.
