Egyptian National Railways expands e‑ticket window, ends free‑service offers

The Egyptian National Railways authority announced that electronic ticket bookings can now be made up to 12 hours before a train’s departure, shortening the previous 24‑hour limit. Passengers can use the official mobile app “قطارات مصر: حجز واستعلام”, the railway’s website, self‑service machines, or traditional ticket windows, and pay with credit cards, debit cards or other online methods.

On July 18, 2026, the agency also marked the final day of its free‑ticket and reduced‑fare programme launched for the 175th anniversary of Egypt’s railway system. The celebration included a week‑long free opening of the railway museum, documentary screenings, music broadcasts at stations, and souvenir giveaways to travelers. The authority highlighted its ongoing commitment to modernising the network while commemorating its historic legacy.
