Egyptian Nursing Syndicate pursues legal action after doctor assaults nurse

The Egyptian Nursing Syndicate has announced legal action following an incident at the Liver Institute Hospital in Shebin El Kom, Menoufia Governorate, where a doctor allegedly assaulted a nurse.

Dr. Kauthar Mahmoud, the General Syndicate Head, stated that a formal report has been filed against the physician for verbal abuse and insulting behavior toward the nurse. The syndicate emphasized that the dignity of nursing staff is a “red line” and that they will provide full legal support to the victim.

In response to the incident, the syndicate has contacted the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to request intervention. Additionally, Dr. Mahmoud plans to file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor and meet with the President of Menoufia University to ensure a safe working environment and hold those responsible accountable.
