Egyptian Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi confirms gas supply met summer peak demand
Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi visited the NATA control centre at the Egyptian Gas Company (GASCO) and confirmed that the national gas network fully satisfied domestic demand during the recent summer heat wave. He said the system maintained stable fuel supplies for all sectors, especially electricity, thanks to a proactive plan that maximised local production, secured additional LNG cargoes via Taghiz vessels and coordinated closely with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
Badawi added that preparations continue for the second half of the summer, with ongoing programmes to improve gas‑system efficiency and energy security, ensuring reliable supply for households and industry.
