Egyptian PM moves to clear New Urban Communities Authority's financial ties with National Bank
Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly chaired a high‑level meeting to monitor and resolve the financial entanglements of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) with the National Bank of Egypt and several ministries. Participants included the housing minister, the finance minister, the planning and economic development minister, a deputy governor of the Central Bank, and senior NUCA officials.
The discussion focused on accelerating the settlement of NUCA's outstanding obligations to government bodies, enhancing the authority's cash flow and supporting the development of new urban settlements. Officials reviewed NUCA's overall debt to ministries, payments made up to July 2026, and projected cash needs through December 2026, as part of a broader effort to boost resources for planned city projects.
