Egyptian pound holds steady as AED and USD rates show little change

On Saturday 13 June 2026, during the weekly bank holiday, the UAE dirham (AED) remained stable against the Egyptian pound (EGP). The Central Bank of Egypt reported an average rate of about 14.14 EGP for buying and 14.17 EGP for selling. Individual banks listed rates ranging from 14.05 to 14.23 EGP for buying and 14.14 to 14.23 EGP for selling.

The US dollar also showed minimal movement. The central bank’s average rate was 51.91 EGP for buying and 52.05 EGP for selling. The highest quoted price was 52.16/52.26 EGP at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, while the lowest was 51.83/51.93 EGP at Emirates Dubai National and Alexandria banks. Rates across other Egyptian banks hovered between 51.90 and 52.10 EGP.

The Central Bank of Egypt noted that monthly inflation fell to 1.6 % in May 2026, down from 1.9 % a year earlier, and annual inflation eased to 13.8 % in May, continuing a downward trend from April’s 14.9 %.
