Zamalek defeats Suez Petrojet 2-1 to reach second in league

Zamalek secured a 2-1 victory against Suez Petrojet at Cairo International Stadium during the third round of the Egyptian Premier League. Hossam Ashraf opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a header following a cross from Chico Banza. Mohamed El-Sayed extended the lead in the 63rd minute after a solo run into the penalty area.

Suez Petrojet attempted a late comeback, with Badr Moussa scoring a penalty in stoppage time after a retake was ordered. Despite the late goal, Zamalek held on to reach seven points, moving into second place in the league standings.

In other league action, Pyramids FC maintained a perfect record with three wins from three matches after defeating Al Masry 1-0, courtesy of an Ahmed Samy header. This result places Pyramids at the top of the table with nine points.
