Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli tours Beheira, spotlighting gas sites and Idko park

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli led an extended visit to Egypt’s Beheira governorate, accompanied by ministers of Local Development and Environment, Oil and Mineral Resources, Health and other officials. The delegation inspected a range of service and development projects, notably the Idko International Park – a 10,500‑square‑metre recreational complex financed by the European Union and Germany’s GIZ, featuring green spaces, smart irrigation, LED lighting and a summer programme of workshops for children and youths.

During the tour the governor highlighted Beheira’s strategic natural‑gas assets, citing the Rashid Petroleum Company and the Idko LNG plant of EGAS as key facilities that feed the national gas network and support export shipments, each valued at billions of dollars. The visit also underscored the heritage city of Rashid, its Islamic monuments and the development of a new corniche, reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving cultural identity while promoting economic growth.
