Egyptologist Zahi Hawass holds cultural event in Tripi-Abakainon

Renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass met with over 400 people during a cultural event in Tripi-Abakainon, Sicily. This visit marks the third stop of his Sicilian tour, following previous appearances in Palermo and Catania.

The initiative was organized by the Municipality of Tripi-Abakainon with support from the Ministry of Culture as part of the PNRR – Next Generation EU programs. The event focused on archaeological research and the promotion of historical heritage, specifically highlighting the ancient site of Abakainon located within the territory.

During the presentation, Hawass shared insights from his decades of field experience through multimedia, discussing discoveries and the complexities of studying ancient Egyptian civilization. He also presented his autobiography, ‘L’Uomo con il Cappello’ (The Man with the Hat), which details the significant milestones of his professional and personal life.
