Egypt's Agriculture Minister celebrates 74th Farmers Day in Beheira
Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, and Beheira Governor Jacqueline Azer attended celebrations for the 74th Egyptian Farmers Day in Abu al-Matamir. The event, held under the theme ‘Egypt's land expands through giving and production,’ honored farmers and distributed modern agricultural tools and sprayers to local farmers and rural women.
During a tour of the region, Minister Farouk inspected corn harvests in instructional fields utilizing modern, water-saving irrigation systems. He emphasized the importance of agricultural extension services and the transfer of modern technologies to increase productivity and reduce the use of fertilizers and water. Farouk noted that food security begins with the farmer and stated that encroaching on agricultural land is a ‘red line.’
The officials also visited an agricultural and veterinary service complex in Naj' al-Najili, established as part of the presidential ‘Decent Life’ initiative. This facility provides integrated services, including agricultural associations, training halls, and veterinary units, designed to centralize resources and support rural development.
