Egypt's Education Ministry partners with Harvard and UNICEF to train school leaders

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education, led by Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, signed a cooperation protocol with the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The agreement creates a specialised training programme at the Egyptian Military Academy aimed at about 220 school principals and senior staff. The curriculum blends online learning with on‑site sessions and focuses on strategic school leadership, student‑centred environment design, and systemic thinking.

Separately, the Ministry, together with UNICEF, launched the "Education Leads" workshops in Damietta. Over three intensive days, 50 school heads received training in data‑driven decision‑making, performance management and change‑management techniques. The workshops were overseen by senior ministry officials and UNICEF experts, reinforcing the broader strategy to raise the capacity of Egypt’s school leadership.

Both initiatives are part of the ministry’s effort to modernise pre‑university education and improve learning outcomes across the country.
