Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority launches training for state IPOs
On 26 July 2026, Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) will begin a training programme aimed at preparing state‑owned companies for listings on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX). The initiative, the first national effort dedicated to supporting government share offerings, will be delivered by the FRA’s training arms, the Financial Services Institute and the Egyptian Institute of Directors.
The programme initially targets the 20 state‑owned firms already provisionally listed on the EGX and will later expand to around 30 additional companies operating in petroleum, mining, pharmaceuticals, tourism, construction, education and manufacturing. Sessions will cover the capital‑market regulatory framework, listing procedures, financial and accounting readiness, governance, sustainability, disclosure obligations, public‑offering mechanisms and post‑listing compliance. FRA Chairman Dr Islam Azam, Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid, State Ownership Enterprises Unit chief Hashem El‑Sayed, EGX Chairman Omar Redwan and other senior officials will attend the opening.
The goal is to strengthen corporate governance, transparency and compliance, thereby deepening and broadening Egypt’s capital market as part of the government’s privatisation programme.
