Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelati pushes political settlement in Yemen, supports Somalia stability mission

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelati said Egypt will continue to back efforts for a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Yemen’s unity, security and stability, and reiterated support for the internationally recognised Yemeni government. He urged dialogue among Yemeni parties and called for a Yemeni‑Yemeni inclusive process to end the conflict.

Abdelati also affirmed Egypt’s full support for regional and international initiatives to secure Somalia, stressing the need for sustainable financing of the African Union‑UN stabilization mission. He expressed concern over the mission’s financial challenges and urged UN Security Council members and partners to maintain logistical and financial support, while offering Egypt’s expertise in counter‑terrorism, border security and capacity‑building for Somali institutions.
