Egypt’s Giza and Sharqiya Health Directors Shut Illegal Clinics and Boost Home Care Visits

In Giza Governorate, the Free Treatment Administration intensified inspections of private medical facilities over three consecutive days. The campaign inspected 168 establishments—including specialist clinics, private clinics, medical centers, physiotherapy centers, laboratories, and a hospital—resulting in 114 closure and sealing orders and 16 police reports for impersonating doctors. The actions were led by Dr. Rami Ibrahim and supported by the Egyptian Drug Authority and local officials.

In Sharqiya Governorate, the health directorate reported that over a 93‑week period it conducted 139,206 home visits for seniors and persons with disabilities. On a recent Friday alone, 2,344 visits were made, covering blood pressure, diabetes, heart, kidney, gastrointestinal, nutritional, vision, and dental checks, as well as health education, psychological support, and dietary counseling. The effort is overseen by Dr. Ahmed Al‑Baily, deputy minister of health for Sharqiya, with backing from Governor Hazem Al‑Ashmouni.
