Egypt's Higher Education Minister discusses research and development cooperation
Egypt's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdelaziz Qansoua, held meetings to expand academic and developmental cooperation.
In a meeting with the Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Dr. Qansoua discussed enhancing collaboration in higher education, scientific research, and training. Key topics included the potential establishment of an ALECSO training center in Egypt to support capacity building for Arab researchers and the provision of scholarships for deserving students.
Additionally, Dr. Qansoua met with the Governor of the Red Sea, Dr. Walid al-Barqi, to discuss utilizing academic expertise to support sustainable development in the Red Sea Governorate. Discussions focused on leveraging university research for projects involving renewable energy, water desalination, and the governorate's transition toward a green economy. The meeting also addressed social initiatives, such as medical and developmental convoys and the implementation of a visual identity project for the governorate in collaboration with Alexandria and the Capital universities.
