Egyptian Minister of Justice Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif led a delegation to China to discuss digital transformation within the Egyptian judicial system. During the visit, discussions were held with Huawei leadership, including Rotating Chairman David Wang, to explore cooperation in implementing advanced technologies for the ‘Justice City’ project in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.
The talks focused on transitioning to a full digital litigation system, utilizing cloud computing and data centers to host Ministry of Justice applications. The Egyptian delegation also inspected the Shenzhen Digital Court to observe Chinese applications of artificial intelligence in civil cases, including smart legal assistants and AI-driven document analysis for judicial precedents.
Additionally, the delegation visited Jiao Tong University in Shanghai to study the digitization of Chinese litigation processes, such as remote hearings and AI-powered speech-to-text technology.
