Egypt's Ministry of Culture celebrates October Victory at Balloon Theater
The Egyptian Ministry of Culture, through the House of Folk and Performing Arts, held a large-scale celebration at the Balloon Theater to commemorate the October Victory anniversary. The event featured the national operetta ‘Malhamat Al Obour’ (The Epic of the Crossing), which combined singing and choreographed performances by the National Folk Arts Troupe.
The operetta was composed and arranged by musician Salah El Sharnoubi and featured prominent singer Mohamed El Helw alongside various artists from the House of Folk and Performing Arts. The production was directed by Mohamed Adel Youssef and included lyrics from poets such as Ahmed Fouad Negm.
The celebration also included a second segment titled ‘Gharam fi Karnak,’ a musical performance inspired by the 1967 film, featuring showcases by the Reda Troupe. The event was attended by various cultural officials, including Ayman El Shiwy, head of the Theater Sector, and was broadcast live on Al Hayah channel.
