Egypt's Ministry of Health closes unlicensed clinic in Dakahlia

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has ordered the closure and sealing of the ‘Qawam’ therapeutic nutrition clinic located in Damira village, Talkha center, Dakahlia Governorate. The action follows an inspection by the Free Treatment Department of the Dakahlia Health Affairs Directorate.

During the inspection, authorities discovered the facility was operating without the necessary medical licenses, violating laws regarding the regulation of medical facilities and professions. Officials also apprehended a pharmacist who was practicing medicine without a license, performing examinations, and dispensing medication. Additionally, medical prescriptions were found issued in her name, and a patient was found undergoing physical therapy using unlicensed equipment.

A formal report has been filed regarding the impersonation of a physician, and the case has been referred to the competent authorities for further investigation. The Ministry emphasized its commitment to intensifying oversight of private medical facilities to ensure public safety and legal compliance.
