Egypt's Ministry of Industry signs MoU with Metso for mineral processing

Egypt's Ministry of Industry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Finnish mining company Metso to enhance technical and operational support for mineral processing and extraction. The partnership focuses specifically on iron ore and phosphate resources.

The cooperation includes research activities, laboratory analysis, feasibility studies, and advanced technical assessments to optimize the use of Egypt's mineral resources. Additionally, Metso will provide engineering consultancy and field experts to support local teams and facilitate knowledge transfer to Egyptian companies.

This MoU serves as a precursor to detailed executive agreements for specific projects. The initiative aims to attract new investments, increase the added value of national mineral wealth, and support local manufacturing to reduce import gaps and boost exports.
